Hey you… it’s been a while!
My little hiatus from posting wasn’t planned, but it was important to focus on other big things going on in my life. The past few months were spent taking my last semester of college classes and being swamped with papers, drafts, and studying. I didn’t have the free time to read a new book each week or write outside of school work. So, I put my blog on the back burner in life and prioritized getting myself through the last weeks of classes. At the beginning of May, I graduated from the University of Georgia! Go Dawgs!!!
Since graduating, I’ve spent the past few weeks finding my footing and figuring out my next steps in life. It’s hard to prepare for everything that changes once you graduate college. You leave your friends behind, move out of an apartment, change your entire routine, and start a new job (or still hope to land one). It’s one thing knowing all of the changes about to come, but living out those changes is like a semi-truck barreling your way down the road while you swerve semi-safely out of the way down a ditch. You’ll walk away with a few bruises, but you manage.
My new job working as a Parapro starts in July, and it’s a step in the right direction towards where I want to be. Everything is different and exciting now with a different perspective on life. I spent the first few months of the year frustrated that my path looked so different compared to everyone around me. Truth be told, I still struggle with it sometimes. The more I think about the more I realize most people don’t have a direct path in life, and everyone’s path is filled with turns and unexpected bumps in the road.
And that brings us to here. Right now, on this website, in this post. Where do I go? For starters, I plan on making a good dent in my reading list over the next few weeks. A looooot of them are mystery/crime books so brace yourselves for the reviews to come! I’d love to take any book recommendations from you guys. Writing creatively again, beyond reviewing books, is high on my list of priorities. It’s a freeing feeling when you’re able to write with no end in sight, and it’s a feeling I’ve missed. In summary, you’ll be reading a lot more of my reviews and creative pieces over the coming weeks and months. You’ll see things I’ve found inspiration in, books I’ve loved and disliked, and different places I’ll find myself at. At the expense of sounding overly cheesy, a new journey begins!
